This week I’ve been thinking a lot about responsibility. It’s what convinced me that I needed to write more about my journey with endometriosis, it was on my mind when I saw that Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus was closing, and it’s been an ever-present thought in light of our current political climate. I keep seeing people post about the Women’s March on Washington and I am incredibly moved by all the different ways we can use our voices to stand up for things we believe in.
This is going to be a short and sweet post but its message is huge: take a moment to sit down and write out the things you are passionate about. Try to focus on causes or issues that could truly benefit from having another voice – your voice. For me right now it is spreading the word about endometriosis and sharing my love of plant-based food to show people that it is possible to be passionate about animals’ rights and veganism without being preachy or obnoxious. Even if it doesn’t feel like I am changing the world, I am getting my voice out there to shed light on things that a lot of people don’t talk about, and that in and of itself is a powerful thing.
So use your voice. It isn’t just your own – it can be used for so many important things if you only open your eyes.
